"Everyone Belongs to Everyone Else"
In the World State, we have a caste system that helps determine who gets what job. In the old world there used to be a country called India which "divided Hindus into four main categories - Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and the Shudras" ("What is India's Caste System"). Our catse system is just like this and caters to everybody. We have five classes:Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. Everybody has a job "'even Epsilons perform indispensable services'" for the World State (Huxley 76). We all have specific tasks to make the world a better place.

AlphasAlphas play an important role in society when dealing with very specific roles within the world state. We are not clones and wear gray specifically. Most of us work on Bokanosky's process, slogans, technology, or any other science departments. These roles are very important in sustaining how the world state runs. Each task is done precisely without any problems. Alphas do the highest jobs possible and require the brightest and best people.

Just like Alphas, Betas are not clones. "While Alphas work high-concept jobs such as inventing new conditioning processes, Betas work as their assistants" (Oglesby). They wear maroon to distinguish themselves from others. They also have high jobs in society, but not as high as us alphas. Their jobs aren't as expendable as the lower castes are either. They are intelligent and well built, but lack the highest capacity.

Gammas, Deltas, EpsilonsThe lower castes play an important role in society because they do all the simple, hard work so the higher-ups can do the thinking work. "The lower the class, the shorter their oxygen" because they can only perform medial tasks that take very little skill (Huxley 24). The tasks may include operating elevators and building props for Obstacle Golf. Even though their tasks are uncomplicated, they are no less important than the Alphas and Betas; someone has to clean the toilets, after all.
