The U.S. and the World State
Though Brave New World is a fictional book, there are many key aspects of it that have caught up with the U.S.'s society. People used to be fearful that world would someday turn into 1984, but people were relieved that once that year had passed they had made it through the dystopia that George Orwell had predicted. Today, we deal with a different crisis. At the tips of our fingers we can now search up and research anything in the matter of minutes. We have the ability to buy and order things at the click of button and only have to wait a couple of minutes to days for the delivery to come through. We have access to everything in the world, yet we are becoming lazier by the day. Today, the U.S. doesn't need to worry about Orwell's theories, it needs to focus on getting away from the World State. There is slowly becoming a lack of motivation and with that loss of determination. A once reigning society will start to topple slowly and over time we won't be here any longer.
